Dog Enumeration Notice
June 1, 2022

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT the Town of Covert will be conducting a dog enumeration (census) beginning July 5, 2022. As required by Article 7 of New York State Agriculture and Markets Law, any dog 4 months of age and older must be licensed in the Town where they are being harbored. This license is renewed annually. All dog(s) within the Town of Covert should be licensed at the Covert Town Clerk's Office (8469 S Main St, Interlaken) or remitted by mail to PO Box 265, Interlaken, NY 14847 and include the following:

  • Dog License Application completely filled in
  • Current Rabies certification from the veterinarian
  • Spay or neuter certificate (or signed Affidavit of Spay/Neuter)
  • Check payable to Covert Town Clerk (cash accepted in person/call for credit*) *extra fee for credit cards will apply
  • The fees prior to enumeration per dog are as follows:
  • Neutered/Spayed $11.00
  • Unneutered/Unspayed $23.00

Once the enumeration begins, an additional enumeration fee of $20.00 for any unlicensed dog will be charged.
